== Song Meanings/Interpretations ==
The singer is sitting alone, and a hummingbird seems to find him. The singer describes how he is sad, and wants his life to get better. After a while the singer starts to question what the hummingbird sees in him and why the bird wants to stay with him, whereafter the hummingbird seems to fly away, but the singer follows, in hope of finding something better. The ending talks a lot about death and how the singer will be observing and be the father of the future times.
This can be interpretted as the singer either dying and observing time, or the singer takes control of his life again and, as said in the lyrics, flutters into sweeter times.

Single Release

In the run up to the re-release of sketches, entitled 'Sketches 3d', edu released a number of reworked singles to promote the re-release, including a reworked version of Hummingbird. A music video was uploaded to edu's YouTube channel on June 28th, 2019.[1] And the single was uploaded to streaming services on 8th July 2019.[2]

Lyrics

Hummingbird you found me
Resting on my own
Leave me be I'm colored sad
All the world's forgot me
Left me all alone
Almost it's as if I'm mad

Peel the way the sunset
Think we'll find tomorrow?
Do you think tomorrow's different than today?
Weary of my eyes I've
Tired many tries.
What is it you offer?
I'll take what you offer

So we share a moment
Is this not a sign?
Whistle up a rhyme or melody
Both us move along
A unity create
Two is quite a potent remedy

What is it you'll find here?
Why'd you even come here?
What would make you want to stay?
Where is it you're off to
Curious of wonder
Maybe I could join you?
Leave myself behind

Look I sit and witness
Turning of the leaves
Fallen snow and death be had
Stuck here in my roots
Beholden to the breeze
This is why I'm colored sad
If you have the answer
Where I might belong to
Point to where I find my peace

Or leave me for a brighter
A sense of what you're after,
Is not what you're after
Always just the same?

Hummingbird who share in
Death be all but known,
Flutter into sweeter times.
Tell me that I'll be there
Observed and observing
Father of the future times.
