Greener is a song by Rob Cantor.
History
Greener first appeared on the Party Boobytrap EP. This demo includes an extra bridge part that was played in some live performances. Despite the song being in an earlier state, it still transitions from Good Day. The demo was later included in Complete Demos. When they recorded Greener for Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum in 2005, they replaced it with a guitar solo. Oddly, an extra guitar part can be heard on the Selections from Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum promotional CD. This indicates the mix was likely changed pretty late in production.
Song Interpretations
The song can be interpreted to be about a failing relationship between two lovers, them drifting further and further apart both physically and romantically.
Trivia
- Greener was the first MMMM song to have a music video, not including Banana Man from Complete Demos.
- Joe once said this song was one of his favorites to perform live.
